Putting
Try
to read the green, ie greens will tend to not be perfectly flat
and straight. You need to guide your ball over the bumps and
turns to get it running in the right direction. It is also
important to hit the ball correctly. You need to make sure that
when you hit the ball, you should make sure you don't pull the
putt. If you keep missing the putts on the left, it is possibly
because you are pulling the putter.
The Grip
The grip can mean the difference between hitting a good and bad
shot. Information and instruction on your grip and other aspect,

The Stance
When you start a hole, after gauging
the general direction of the hole and making sure you are
holding the club correctly for the type of shot, you then have
to make sure that you are standing correctly to the ball. I was
always taught that when you approach the ball, you should hold
your club in front of you, like you're shaking someone's hand.
Once you are in that first position, you then need to
slightly bend your knees, not a lot, just slightly. Now, from
the waste, lean forward until the club is in a comfortable
position on the ground behind the ball. Try to keep your back as
straight as possible. What it may feel like is that you are
sticking your backside out. If it feels like you are doing that,
then you are probably have a good stance.
The Swing
Get into your correct stance, see
above, making sure you keep your head in as similar position as
possible throughout your swing. Pull the club back, keeping your
head looking at the ball. once at the top of your swing, your
hands should be at right angles to the club, the club should
near enough be pointing towards your target, parallel to the
ground and you should have shifted some of your weight to the
back foot. As you bring your club down, try to shift your weight
to the front foot as you swing through. Follow the swing of the
club through, and you should now find that your body has turned
slightly to face your front towards the target.
Please note: I am not a professional golfer, I merely
play for fun, but love the game. This information is purely my
own opinion and must not be taken, as you would do from a
professional. If you want more
professional instruction, why not
visit your local course and ask the professional there for their
lesson costs. Sometimes you can get some great deals.
